Information on the .cc Domain
The .cc domain is being advertised on TV, radio, billboards and the Internet as the new .com domain by registrars like Spot.cc and ENIC, but .cc is the top level domain for the Cocos (Keeling) Islands in the Indian Ocean. Internet Services Corporation of Seattle is managing the .cc domain in exchange for free high bandwidth satellite Internet connectivity and community funding for the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
