Post Card: Malo, Washington
The northern section of Ferry County was opened to
mineral entry in February of 1896. The area seethed
with mining excitement, by 1900, 12,000 claims had
been recorded. Malo, 16 miles south of the Canadian
border was born into the middle of the frenzy.
Several claims were developed near Malo itself,
one, the St. Peters of some importance.
